New to His Healing Hands
Previous His Healing Hands Team Members:
Our team members usually come from different parts of the country. For this reason, we will have at least one ZOOM video conference meeting prior to departure.
We will be conducting out-patient medical clinics in Hermosillo, a town located approximately 250 miles south of Tucson, AZ, to support our host churches. The team will arrive on Saturday.
Sunday the team will attend church with our local host. Sunday afternoon will be free time and/or some team members may travel to the clinic site to begin set up for the next day.
Monday through Friday, the team will conduct clinics all day, returning to the hotel for dinner and rest.
Saturday the team will return to the US.
Total Trip Cost
$1,640 (estimated)
Final trip cost depends on team size and airfare cost. Airfare rates are determined at the time of booking the flights. Flight costs generally run between $250 and $300 but could be higher depending on your departure airport. Your final trip cost will be provided after flights are booked.
Trip Payment Schedule
$500 non-refundable deposit at sign-up
$600 second payment due on or before October 1, 2023

We are limiting this team to 25 people max, we ask people to confirm their place by paying the deposit as soon as they are able. Once we have a team of 20 confirmed by payment of the deposit, if we have applications from additional people, we will start a waiting list. Team Member Commitment
I understand that this mission trip starts the day I am approved to join the mission team and agree that, as a part of a His Healing Hands mission team, I am committed to being available for conference calls leading up to the trip departure and to reading all emails and materials pertaining to the trip. I am committed to responding in a timely manner when a response is requested. I understand that these communications are necessary to maximize the effectiveness of the team, to prepare each person for the trip, and to build team unity. For most teams, this will include 1 or more conference calls leading up to trip departure.
Medical professionals such as doctors, dentists, pharmacists, nurse practitioners, chiropractors, and physician’s assistants are needed for this team.
In addition, lay people are needed to staff positions such as pharmacy assistant, crowd control, and eye glass stations. If you are pregnant or think you might be pregnant during this trip, please check with your doctor before planning to travel on any mission trip and email the Project Manager prior to signing up to make sure this trip is right for you. Age Requirements
All ages are welcome to join this team; however, persons aged 17 and under must be accompanied by a parent.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
1.0 In the event that a team member drops out of the mission trip after costs have been incurred but not been paid for by the team member, that team member is responsible to reimburse His Healing Hands for those costs, including airfare, hotel deposits, and in-country transportation deposits. Costs incurred and paid for by the team member are not refundable.
2.0 In the event that His Healing Hands cancels the mission trip after donations have been received, team members will be offered the option of receiving a refund or holding the funds towards future trip.
2.1 If the team member opts to receive a refund, the refund will be processed to the original form of payment.
2.2 If the team member opts to hold the funds towards a future trip, the future trip must be completed by the end of the following calendar year. For example, if a trip is cancelled in June 2022, then the future trip must be completed by December 2023. After that, those funds will be used by His Healing Hands as our discretion to further the overall ministry goals of the organization.
2.3 This refund provision does not apply to third party donors. In the event that His Healing Hands cancels the mission trip after donations have been received from third party donors, those funds may also be held towards a future trip under the terms of Section 2.2 above.
2.4 In the unlikely event that His Healing Hands cancels a trip after funds have been expended to purchase goods and services related to the trip, such as airfare, the ability of the ministry to refund those amounts is governed by the refund and cancellation policy of the vendor involved.
3.0 Due to IRS tax laws for non-profit organizations, with the exception of the circumstances outlined in Section 2.0, His Healing Hands cannot refund any donations. Please note that all trip costs are considered donations as they are tax deductible. This means that if a team member has raised funds or themselves donated funds towards the cost of the trip and then cancels, His Healing Hands cannot refund any of those donations, including the deposit, without jeopardizing its non-profit status. All funds will be retained by His Healing Hands to further the overall ministry goals of the organization.
4.0 Likewise, in the event that donations are received (whether self-funded or from third party donors) which exceed the actual cost of this short-term mission trip, those excess funds will be used by His Healing Hands at our discretion to further the overall ministry goals of the organization.
Vaccinations
Please note that, although full vaccination against COVID-19 is not required for team members traveling with His Healing Hands in 2023, certain airlines and/or destination countries may require proof of vaccination in order to travel. If that is the case for your trip, we will let you know.
His Healing Hands advises all team members to check the information at the U. S. Centers for Disease Control at https://www.cdc.gov to get the latest health advisories and immunization recommendations/requirements for the country to which they will travel. We also recommend that all team members consult with their personal physician before planning overseas travel.
COVID-19 Testing
Mexico does not currently require a negative COVID-19 test to enter the country.
The United States does not currently require a negative COVID-19 test for US citizens arriving via land crossing borders with Mexico.
These requirements are subject to change at any time by the respective governments. We will provide you with the most current requirements prior to your departure for the trip.

Donations to cover the cost of the trip can be made by mailing a check to His Healing Hands at 1050 Las Tablas Rd, #5, Templeton, CA 93465. Please be sure to write your name and 2022 Summer Mexico on the memo line.

Trip cost donations may also be made by texting a keyword and the amount of the donation to 805-262-8404. Once you are approved for the team, your keyword will be provided to you in your welcome email.
In the event that donations are received (whether self-funded or from third party donors) which exceed the actual cost of this short-term mission trip, those excess funds will be used by His Healing Hands at our discretion to further the overall ministry goals of the organization. Also, in the event that you need to cancel your trip, all funds donated towards the trip, including the deposit, are non-refundable and will be used by His Healing Hands at our discretion to further the overall ministry goals of the organization.
Flight & Travel Info
All US team members will travel to Hermosillo from Tijuana International Airport. Team members will assemble in San Diego the day before the flight and use the Cross Border Express Bridge (CBX) to cross from San Diego to Tijuana. The CBX gives direct access to Tijuana International Airport for ticketed passengers. The cost for using the CBX as well as the overnight stay in San Diego are included in the trip cost.
Visa & Passport Validity Info
Team members will need to purchase a tourist card to travel in Mexico. The tourist card may be purchased upon arrival in Mexico as part of the passport control process. The cost for the tourist card is $35 US and MUST be paid in cash. The passport control office may not accept credit or debit cards and may not give change; therefore, it is recommended that you be prepared to pay in exact currency. Additionally, you will be asked to pay an exit fee upon departure, also payable in cash. Currently, the exit fee is $10.00. Mexico requires that your passport be valid for six months beyond your travel dates. For more information about passport validity, please visit the US State Department website.
Pre/Post Mission Tourism Travel
Some team members opt to extend their mission trip for tourism travel either before or after the dates of the mission trip. At the request of the team member, His Healing Hands will arrange flights to include tourism travel dates; however, any additional airfare cost must be borne by the team member and may not be tax deductible. Additionally, the team member must make all other personal travel arrangements privately. His Healing Hands cannot make arrangements for additional hotel, ground transportation, travel insurance, or other items associated with private travel arrangements, nor will His Healing Hands collect any funds for those arrangements.
Room Arrangements
Our trip costs are established based on two team members sharing a room. Unmarried team members will share a room with another team member of the same gender. You should expect to share a room unless you specifically request otherwise and pay the additional cost for the request which may include paying the additional cost for your potential roommate being forced to also have a single room.
Since we are a Christian organization, we do not permit team members of the opposite sex to share a room together unless they are legally married, or it is a parent/child situation.
Please email the Project Manager with specific questions about this policy. ([email protected])
