Funding Challenges
When His Healing Hands first started sending medical teams into the field in 1999, we were able to fund each of our projects from the individual pockets of the leaders and team members. This method worked just fine when we were sending 2-3 teams each year. However, due to the success of the teams, the demand for our mobile medical clinic teams has grown to a point where it is no longer possible to fund our projects in this manner.
To support the demand, HHH expanded operations in 2006 to include two regional project areas:
- Asia & Pacific Projects
- Africa, Europe, and Americas Projects
The chart above depicts our 2008 budget breakdown as it relates to our regional project areas. The budget does not include any salaries because all of His Healing Hands staff are volunteers who raise their own support independently.
As the number of our teams increased each year we began to realize that there were additional humanitarian needs that our teams could also meet using the same mobile clinic model. During 2008 we plan to add two new ministries to each of the teams we plan to send. In addition to our existing prescription medicine and medical exams ministries we will add food for orphanages and refugees, and prescription eye glasses. In summary these four areas that cut across all of our regional project areas are:
- Prescription Medicines (Medical Supplies)
- Food for orphanages and refugees (Kids Against Hunger)
- Prescription eye glasses (Vision)
- Medical exam services (Medical Teams)

Our plans are realistic and we believe that God is calling us to expand, however we will have a financial shortfall without your help. We need several financial partners who have a heart for our ministry, but who may not be able to participate directly as a volunteer on one of our medical teams. If you are one of these potential financial partners, we want to pray with you for discernment in your decision and for God's will.
The medical teams are each self funding since their travel and in-country expenses are covered directly by the collective team members. We will be sending approx. 10 teams in 2008, each team consisting of 5-10 members. We are seeking partners who are willing to fund all or part of the other three designated ministry areas or part of our increased administrative overhead. We want to pray with you about your interest and to discuss some of our plans that will allow you to donate as little as $10/month up to funding an entire ministry. All donations are used exactly as you prescribe and are 100% tax deductible.
